When is renting storage useful?

Storage rental gives you extra space away from your home or workplace. You rent your own private unit and decide how much space you need and how long you want to use it.

Moving or renovating

Temporary storage can be useful when there is a gap between leaving your old home and moving into your new one. It also helps you create more space while packing, cleaning or renovating.

Furniture, electronics and other belongings remain away from dust, paint and building materials until the work is finished.

Downsizing or living abroad

Moving into a smaller home does not mean you have to decide immediately what to keep, sell or donate. A storage unit gives you more time to make those decisions without overcrowding your new home.

Storage can also be useful when you are temporarily leaving the Netherlands for work, study or travel and want to keep your furniture and personal belongings.

ALLSAFE does not charge administration or registration fees. A deposit applies when you start renting a unit. The complete price and rental conditions are shown before you complete your agreement.

How much storage space do you need?

The right unit size depends on what you want to store and how efficiently your belongings can be packed.

• 1–3 m³: suitable for boxes, clothing, tools, sports equipment and seasonal belongings.
• 4–12 m³: suitable for the contents of a bedroom, student room or home office.
• 13–24 m³: suitable for furniture and belongings from a studio, apartment or several rooms.
• 25–54 m³: suitable for the contents of a family home, including larger furniture and household appliances.
• 55–120 m³: suitable for a large household, substantial business inventory or a combination of storage needs.

Disassembling furniture and using strong, stackable boxes can significantly reduce the amount of space you need.

How does renting a storage unit work?

1. Choose a location: Search by city or postcode to find an ALLSAFE storage facility near your home, workplace or new address.
2. Select the right unit size: Use the storage calculator or ask an ALLSAFE employee for advice. This helps prevent you from renting too much or too little space.
3. View the price and reserve your unit: Select an available unit at your preferred location. You will see the current price, rental conditions and any available offer before completing your agreement.
4. Move your belongings into storage: Once your rental agreement is complete, you receive personal access to your private storage unit. Standard access is available seven days a week from 06:00 to 23:00. Check your selected location for the exact access arrangements.

Free transport from 6 m³ 

Renting a storage unit of 6 m³ or larger? You can use free transport to bring your belongings to your unit. 

The available vehicle and exact conditions depend on your selected location and rental agreement. Transport options may include a trailer, moving van or pick-up and delivery service.
